matrices
today i have mostly been preparing to write a paper. this is because a couple of days ago i decided i really wanted to write a paper. in research you are mostly judged on how good you are at persuading institutions to part with their money just for you, how many times you have stood up and bored people with your stuff at things like conferences and how many papers you have written. i figure i have got a good start with the money (although nottingham uni seem to have benifitted from it much more than me) and the giving talks thang, now i want to get started on my first paper.
it would be so cool to go to brum one day and show mum and dad a published scientific paper with my name on it. then they would know that percentages aren’t the most important thing in a girls education.
matrix 2 came out yesterday (well, technically it didn’t but effectively it did). really want to see it, but trying to book tickets with a maxed out credit card didn’t help this matter. hopefully cahooooooooot will save us all.
um..that’ll do.
