from “haway man” to “ey up me duck” in one swift movement
just come back from the british aphasiology society’s conference in newcastle and it was great. met lots of interesting people and important people and important interesting people. managed to learn some stuff and come back with new ideas and renewed enthusiasm for my phd. did some shopping in newcastle, saw the millenium bridge (impressive and vertigo inducing), tyne bridge (beast of a thing) and went to the conference do in st james’s park. this was /really/ cool. it was all very posh and all that, and i found a door out onto the terraces and sat looking across the pitch. forgot how impressive that view of a footie ground is. must go back to villa park soon.
so yes, i really enjoyed it and newcastle looked like a really nice place. missed carl though, so glad i’m home again. tomorrow we are having the day off work to paint our bedroom in the colour we chose about 6 months ago, which is actually very close to the colour of this blog. then on saturday we are going down to brum again to meet jobo and hannah and go to the wedding fayre at the nec and see michael play in artsfest. sorry, that should be artsfest. oh, and if you are going to then these are bits you want to see. not just biased either, he is just reallyreally good. then we are going to church again on sunday to see nick the vicar do his thang and see how many other people we can fit in a visit to. busybusy. should be a good weekend though. looking forward to it.
