carl has installed this new statistics thingy which tells us lots of different things about traffic for our blogs. mine is here. one bit of it says what searches people have done on their search engine of choice to get to my blog, and it makes me feel bad that people have got here hoping to find a wealth of information about something i must have only made a throwaway comment about. so this is for them…

northfield swimming baths (when did i ever mention this?):
located in a suburb of birmingham about 7 miles out of the city centre on the main Bristol Road South (the 62 and 63 buses pass it). i remember them to be really nice swimming baths, with a large pool and a small pool for little kids. i think it has a gym too. they do lots of different classes there and you can hire out the small pool for kid’s parties (or at least you could when i was 5, because i went to one and it was great). overall, not the largest baths in the world, but really nice and a place i have lots of fond memories.

speech therapist, nottingham:
there are a few different bases that i know of for speech therapists in nottingham, the 2 main hospitals (qmc and city hospital) and the community stroke team who live in hyson green. i have contact with them due to my phd project, which is concerned with people who have aphasia. for those who don’t know, aphasia is an umbrella term for a number of different language problems that can occur after damage to certain parts of the brain. it’s particularly common in people who have suffered a stroke. if you are interested, this link will tell you what a speech therapist really does. all i can really say with any authority about the nottingham speech therapists is that they are a really nice bunch of people who have put themselves out to help me in my research.

chateau impney weddings:
located in droitwich, not far from birmingham. it is such a gorgeous place and if you ever wanted a fairytale wedding then this is the place to do it. but my god, how much money would you have to spend to have a reception here? if you just want a room for your wedding night then forget it, they won’t be interested in you and your petty existence.

bruges:
bruges is great. if you are thinking of visiting there then do and i hope you have as fantastic a time as we did. make sure you visit the grand cafe de belfort on the main square.

cooky cutter:
i really don’t believe i have ever said this and i don’t have anything to say about it either.

hope this helps a bit more than before.
